Description:

This position is primarily responsible for agronomy customer support through recommendations and sales of agronomy products and services.  This individual will also work with the Agronomy Management team to develop marketing strategies and sales goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

(Included, but not limited to)

  • Customer Support and Relations
    • Build customer relations leading to sales in crop protection and nutrient products, soil sampling, seed, and other products and services
    • Create customized fertilizer and crop protection program recommendations for customers to increase yield profitability
    • Evaluate effectiveness of recommendations through field scouting, field trials, and customer interactions
    • Respond to and create solutions to customer complaints
  • Marketing and Sales
    • Collaborate with sales team to determine best product selections for customers agronomically and economically
    • Research products through on farm trials, plots, and data research
    • Promote products and services through grower meetings and field days
    • Assist with product purchasing decisions and margin structure
  • Sales Team Development
    • Work with sales team to share business goals and objectives
    • Attract, develop, and retain Sales Agronomists
  • Precision Technology
    • Continually improve efficiencies of operations and customer support through precision technology improvements
  • General Management and Operations
    • Assit with execution and delivery of products and services
    • Seasonal extended hours and weekends

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture-related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience in agriculture
  • Certified Crop Advisor preferred

Other Requirements & Licenses:

  • Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification
  • Commercial Drivers License with HazMat & Tanker preferred
  • Clear driving record
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Self-starter and able to schedule and manage time
  • Able to organize and work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office

Classification:

Full Time

Compensation:

  • Annual Salary $45k-$65k based on experience
  • Wage increases based on performance and company profit
